We pride ourselves on providing a home away from home for you and your furry family member.
The origin story of Beach Animal Hospital starts with Sam, the black English Setter portrayed on our sign and logo. Sam, the long time beloved pet of Dr. Himes, suffered a severe abdominal bleed during the time when Dr. Himes was doing her internship at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in New York City. At surgery, the worst was confirmed. Sam had an aggressive cancer of the spleen. In order to care for Sam, Dr. Himes made the decision to leave New York City and return to her Ocean County home. Dr. Himes and Dr. Moreau reconnected and made the decision to bring top-notch veterinary care to Ocean County in the form of Beach Animal Hospital. Because of the holistic care Sam received: chemotherapy, echinacea tea, and a loving environment, she survived long past her predicted lifespan with cancer, and lived to see her likeness on the Beach Animal Hospital sign. Sam was the catalyst for the formation and the underlying ethos of our patient first philosophy and home away from home environment we’ve created at Beach Animal Hospital.
